RAPID REPROCESSING

EMDR Intensive Sessions: A Deeper Dive

4 Hours: $600

EMDR Intensives are a concentrated form of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy designed to provide meaningful and lasting relief from trauma-related symptoms. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, EMDR Intensives offer extended, focused sessions that allow for deeper healing, faster progress, and greater continuity in the trauma reprocessing process.

These intensives are ideal for individuals who want to engage in trauma work without the disruption of weekly appointments stretched out over many months.

A Comprehensive, Integrative Approach to Trauma Healing

Each intensive is more than EMDR reprocessing alone. Sessions are thoughtfully structured to include:

  • Resourcing and nervous system regulation

  • Somatic practices

  • Parts work and parts mapping (IFS-informed)

This integrative approach supports whole-person healing by helping clients build emotional stability, understand protective responses, and ensure that trauma processing unfolds safely and effectively.

For many individuals, especially those with childhood trauma or complex PTSD (CPTSD), protective parts may understandably emerge during trauma work. When these parts are mapped, understood, and supported, the reprocessing phase becomes significantly smoother and more sustainable.

Key Benefits of EMDR Intensives

Accelerated Healing
Extended sessions allow for focused, uninterrupted processing and faster symptom reduction.

Deeper Trauma Resolution
Intensives provide the time and space needed to work through traumatic memories with greater depth and integration.

Mind-Body Regulation
Somatic and body-based techniques help calm the nervous system and restore a felt sense of safety.

Internal Harmony Through Parts Work
Parts mapping supports compassionate connection with protective and wounded aspects of the self, promoting lasting inner stability.

Personalized Treatment
Each intensive is customized to your unique history, goals, and readiness, ensuring that the process feels safe, attuned, and effective.

How EMDR Intensives Work

1. History Gathering and Trauma Assessment

We begin with a comprehensive review of your history and the experiences that may still be impacting you. Together, we identify themes, triggers, and potential targets for reprocessing.

2. Resourcing and Nervous System Preparation

Before any trauma processing begins, we build a strong foundation of coping skills, grounding tools, and regulation practices that can be used in daily life to manage anxiety, stress, and emotional activation.

3. Parts Mapping (IFS-Informed) and Somatic Support

We take time to identify the protective parts of the self that developed during traumatic experiences. This step is especially essential for those with complex trauma, as protector parts often need support and trust before deeper processing can occur.

For many clients with CPTSD, this foundation phase may take two intensives, ensuring that protective responses do not interfere with the healing process once reprocessing begins.

4. EMDR Reprocessing

Once preparation is complete, we move into extended EMDR reprocessing using bilateral stimulation. In many cases, we are able to complete at least one major target, often the most significant trauma that still feels unresolved.

Recommended Structure

  • For single-incident trauma, two intensives may be sufficient

  • For complex PTSD or childhood trauma, a minimum of three intensives is typically recommended

    • Two sessions to build foundation, resourcing, and parts mapping

    • One session focused on deeper reprocessing of a primary target

Sessions do not need to be scheduled back to back. Intensives can be spaced out over time to allow for integration and flexibility.

Learn To Be Present in Your Life

Mindfulness: Cultivating Presence and Peace

Mindfulness is a practice that involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. It's about being fully aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without getting caught up in them. Mindfulness can be cultivated through various techniques, such as meditation, yoga, and mindful breathing.

Benefits of Mindfulness Practice:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety: Mindfulness helps you manage stress and anxiety by focusing on the present moment rather than worrying about the past or future.
  • Improved focus and concentration: By training your mind to stay present, you can enhance your focus and concentration.
  • Increased emotional well-being: Mindfulness can help you better understand and manage your emotions, leading to greater emotional resilience.
  • Enhanced self-awareness: By paying attention to your thoughts and feelings, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
  • Improved physical health: Mindfulness has been linked to various physical health benefits, including reduced blood pressure and improved sleep.
  • Enhanced relationships: Mindfulness can help you cultivate greater empathy and compassion for others, leading to improved relationships.
